Tour Plan

Departure at 08:00 AM, crossing the High Atlas via the Tizi N’Tichka pass. After lunch in Ouarzazate, we continue to the Skoura Oasis. Established in the 12th century, this palm grove is famous for its earthen fortresses like Kasbah Amridil and Dar Aït Sidi El Mati. Learn about the ancient Khetara (underground canal) irrigation system that sustains the almond, fig, and pomegranate trees. Dinner and overnight in a traditional Kasbah.

Travel through the Dades Valley, where the landscape shifts from ochre earth to the dramatic cliffs of the Todra Gorges. Stand between steep 300-meter cliffs before heading east toward the Tafilalet region. We pass through Erfoud—an ancient fortified village famous for its fossils—to reach Merzouga. Overnight at a hotel at the foot of the golden dunes.

A day dedicated to desert culture. This region was once a vital stop for trans-Saharan gold and slave caravans. Visit the Aït Atta nomads to share a tea of hospitality and learn the secrets of desert survival. In the late afternoon, trade your vehicle for a camel to trek into the heart of the Erg Chebbi dunes for sunset. Dinner and overnight in a traditional Berber tent.

After a spectacular Sahara sunrise, we head toward the Draa Valley. The road crosses the lunar landscapes of Jebel Ougnate and Saghro, where nomads settle with their herds for the winter. We visit N’Kob and the oasis of Tamnougalt near Agdz. Once a strategic "meeting place" for caravans from Timbuktu, Tamnougalt has preserved its authentic architecture. Dinner and overnight in an oasis Kasbah.

Leave the Draa Valley for the final leg of the journey. Stop at the famous Ksar Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site that has served as the backdrop for countless films. After lunch at the Ksar, we cross the High Atlas mountains one last time, arriving in Marrakech by the end of the day.
