Tour Plan

We start with an 8:00 AM pick-up from your accommodation. We cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, the highest road in Africa. After stopping for photos, we reach the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and former caravan route. After a traditional lunch, we visit the Atlas cinema studios and an 18th-century Kasbah in Ouarzazate. We then drive through the Skoura palm grove and the Rose Valley (Kelaat M'Gouna). Our day ends in the Dades Gorges, where you will check into your hotel for the night.

After breakfast, we explore the Dades Gorges before heading toward the Merzouga desert. We stop at the spectacular Todra Gorges to walk among the 300-meter-high cliffs. After passing through Erfoud (the city of fossils), we reach Merzouga. Following a welcoming mint tea, we embark on a camel caravan for a 1.5-hour trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi to witness a lifetime sunset. We spend the night in a Berber tent at a desert camp under a spectacular starry sky.

Wake up early for a majestic sunrise over the dunes, followed by breakfast in the camp. Ride camels back to Merzouga to meet your driver. We head to the Tafilalet palm grove and the historic city of Rissani, once a major trade center for Sahara caravans. We then cross the Anti-Atlas Mountains through the oases of Tazarine and Nkob. After driving through the sublime Draa Valley and the village of Agdz, we stop for lunch in Ouarzazate before returning to Marrakech via the High Atlas, arriving around 6:00 or 7:00 PM.
