This desert adventure to the dunes of Zagora through the gate of the desert Ouarzazate is a special experience for travelers who do not have the luxury of time but want to discover the Moroccan Sahara. Sleep in tents, spend the night under the stars, and camel trek through the arid Sahara desert of Zagora to explore the Berber nomad way of life. This 2-day tour gives you the opportunity to cross the High Atlas Mountains, admire the stunning views of Draa Valley and its palm groves, and visit UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Tour Plan

We start our tour with a pick-up at 8:00 AM from your accommodation. We cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, enjoying the presence of scattered Berber villages. We reach the world heritage site of Ait Benhaddou, Morocco’s most famous fortified village. After a traditional lunch, we continue through the Draa Valley and its huge palm grove, crossing the village of Agdez. Upon arriving in Zagora, we take a tea break before riding camels through the palm groves to reach the Tinfo dunes to spend the night in Berber tents.

After breakfast in the desert camp, enjoy the sunlight rising over the small dunes of Zagora. Ride your camel back to meet the driver and begin the journey toward Marrakech. You will have free time in Ouarzazate for lunch and a visit to the famous Kasbah of Taourirt and the film studios. In the afternoon, we drive back through the Atlas Mountains, arriving in Marrakech for drop-off at your accommodation around 6:00 PM.
